The General Election 2017

Year 3 have enjoyed finding out more about the general election this week and talking about the results!  This fits in with our whole school focus on democracy and the rule of law.  Our children are really getting to grips with what this all means.

Police, camera, action!

We had some very important visitors this week from our local police station.  The children in year 3 were fascinated to hear all about the daily life of our local police officers.  They had the opportunity to climb aboard a riot van and get a closer look at the protection the officers use for public order scenarios.  The children thoroughly enjoyed using the sirens and embarking in some role play!  Thanks QPS 🙂

Yumdiddlyumptious! Chocolate heaven!

Year 3 pupils (and teachers!) had an amazing time at Cadbury World on Thursday!  We learnt lots of important things about branding and target markets, which we have brought back into the classroom to help us design our own chocolate bars and sweets.  And of course we got to sample some delicious Cadbury chocolate!

What’s your favourite Cadbury chocolate bar?  Leave a comment…

World Book Day Thursday 2nd March 2017

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in World Book Day on Thursday.  There were some fabulous outfits including Willy Wonka, Horrid Henry, Cat in the Hat, to name but a few!  Thanks so much, parents for making the effort to sort out costumes – the children looked thrilled to become their favourite characters.  Year 3 completed some author reviews as part of the day and found out lots of facts about Eva Ibbotson, author of our current Teaching of Reading book – The Abominables.
